License code (instead of file) for 1Password 4 [Solution: Use upgrade button in the license window]

So I have 1Password 4 family license for Mac, and since I have Windows-using family member, I'm thinking of upgrading to a Mac + Windows bundle. But when I go to https://agilebits.com/store and press the "Select" button below the "Upgrade license" text and next to "Price varies" text, I'm taken to the page https://agilebits.com/store/upgrade?product_id=108 that asks me to paste in the license code in a text field. Now the trouble is, I don't have a license code; I have a license file instead that I dropped into the application when I bought it. I tried having it re-sent to me, but I again just got a license file.

So, how can I see what upgrades am I eligible?

Thanks,
Attila.

Okay, I think I figured it out. All I needed was to write a forum post, apparently. Answer: in the Mac app, go to 1Password 4->License… and press the Upgrade License button, which takes me to a store web page with my (otherwise inaccessible) license code in the URL. So at least now I know the license code too :-)

What's not clear to me now is that if I want to transition from a 1Password family license for Mac to having a family license for both Mac and Windows, do I purchase an upgrade to "1Password 4 for Windows"? Or will that make me lose my Mac license and I need to purchase an upgrade to "1Password Mac + Windows Bundle" instead?

  • Hi @attila‌,

Glad you found the correct upgrade button!

What you will want to use is the upgrade for just 1Password 4 for Windows. You do not need the Bundle at the point, as you already have the Mac license. The Windows license will simply be added to your purchase records, it will not replace the Mac purchase.
