1Password 5.1.1 beta 1: Dates are saved wrong for a new passport item [Confirmed, investigating]

Hi all!

When I create a new passport item, the issue and expiry date as well as the birthday field have a wrong value saved.

Prerequisites:

  • Since I am German, I have my iPhone 6 set to German.
  • 1Password is in German, too.
  • The normal German date format is dd.mm.yyyy or dd.mm.yy as short form.

Here's what I do:
1. Create a new passport item.
2. Fill in the fields such as name, passport number etc.
3. Enter my birthday as 15.mm.yyyy. That's secretMonth 15, secretYear.

Result: The date is saved, and then displayed as 14.mm.yy. Short form for secretMonth 14, secretYear.

The same happens with the issuing and expiry dates for the passport. They both get saved with the day off by one.

If I then look in the item on the Mac, I also see the wrong dates, but can correct them to the right dates. 1Password for Yosemite saves the item correctly afterwards.

If I then go back into 1Password for iOS, either the beta or the 5.1 release, and open the item for viewing, it displays the dates wrong again. The day is always 1 less than it should be.

  • Hi @MarcoZ,

Thanks for detailing this, we are tracking down date issues like yours and we did see a pattern with using a different date locale. I'll include your in our tracker.

We'll get this fixed as soon as possible.
