1Password Safari extension isn't connecting to 1Password 4 OS X Mavericks 10.9.5 / Safari 7.1

I have installed the 1Password extensions for both Safari and Chrome. However, the Safari extension does not appear to be connecting with the 1Password 4 app.

The key appears to the left of the address bar in Safari, but any time that it is selected I get the message

"Looking for the 1Password app. The 1Password app must be installed for the extension to work properly."

1Password mini is running in the background and operates appropriately with Chrome.

Any ideas?

I have made sure that the 1Password extension has been selected in Safari. I have also uninstalled the extension and reinstalled it.

Thanks

    Hi @mmscichowski‌,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with 1Password right now. Since reinstalling hasn't gotten things working for you, we'll need to take a closer look at your system to determine where things are getting tangled up.

I'd like to ask you to create a Diagnostics Report from your Mac:
    https://guides.agilebits.com/kb/1password4/en/topic/diagnostics-report#mac4

Then attach the entire file to an email to us: support+forum@agilebits.com

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

A short note here once you've sent the Report in will help us to keep an eye out for it. :)

Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks in advance!

Upgraded to Yosemite, tried to install 1Password Safari extension. When installation was complete I got this error: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s2/sh/2d60e247-9d7f-4974-bcbd-8eabba4ae4c0/cdac84b0783d790e094e5a9e3ba7195e

Now Safari shows extension as enabled, the button is on the toolbar, but each time I click it, I see the same error.

    Please help.

  • Hi @Alexis Smirnov‌, .

That would happen if the main 1Password app wasn't opened first, or in some cases, the 1Password app is not installed.

Please open the main 1Password app in your Applications folder and unlock with your master password. Once you do that, restart Safari, and see if 1Password extension now works.
