License confusion

I just upgraded to OS X Yosemite. after the upgrade, I was informed by the Mac App Store that version 5 of 1P was available. I told it to update. it did.

In the upper right hand corner of 1P, it is telling me Trial Expired.

and now I can’t create new entries. since I bought from the App Store, I don't have a license code to use, as far as i know.

(sent email and got no reply).

  • Hi @NickIceCream‌,

As the developer that wrote this code, I'm really sorry to hear that you're having this issue. I think what's likely happening here is that the update updated the application on disk, but that your new 1Password 5 app is still communicating with the 1Password 4 mini. The solution to this should be to reboot the Mac which should make sure that there are no traces of 1Password 4 left in memory.

If you're still seeing this after a reboot, please let us know.

    Rick

helpful info. problem may be fixed. I logged in remotely and upon restart 1P told me that there was a version conflict with mini. it was grabbing mini off a cloned boot disk that i created before upgrading to Yosemite. I think it is OK now. assume this one is closed.
