Getting an error with Safari 8.0 and Extension

I am getting an error when I go to use the extension.

There is no application set to open the URL onepassword4-extension://activate/Safari.

I have shut down the Mac - deleted extensions - reinstalled, but won't work.

It looks like it is trying to hit an agile bits page and not finding it.

Yosemite - Safari 8.0

Thanks in advance

  • Hi @JBGloss‌,

That sounds like an error that would show up if the system isn't detecting the presence of the main 1Password app itself. Can you confirm that you have the 1Password app installed (preferably within /Applications), and that you've launched it at least once? Can you also check that you have the mini running? You can do that by going into 1Password's Preferences, under the General tab, make sure the first two checkboxes are enabled. The extension will only properly function if the mini is running.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Hi @JBGloss‌,

Am I right to assume that you are using 1Password 5 for Mac with the latest version of the Safari Extension (4.2.5)?

If that's the case please make sure that the option "Always keep 1Password mini running" is enabled in Preferences > General and that 1Password mini is running indeed.

    Hope that this helps!

    Cheers!
