License for App Store Version

Just read the latest newsletter and understand that I need the App Store version for iCloud syncing??

I hope this does not mean that (loyal) users are being expected to buy another version? Can Agile not issue discount codes to existing licence holders so that they can migrate or else refund the cost on production of an email receipt? There must be a solution to this that does not penalise existing customers?
