If I have 1Password4 do I need to buy 1Password5 or just upgrade? I tried installing and opening 1password5 and get error messages. I also seem to have lost recent additions to my 1Password login and secure notes pages.

    Hi @vdawson711‌,

    1Password 5 is a free upgrade for 1Password 4 users. As long as you're running Yosemite, you should be able to run 1Password 5. But if you did the upgrade manually (as opposed to using the updater within the app or via Mac App Store), you may run into issues where the app is running a bit of both versions (i.e. version 4 mini and the version 5 main app). This can lead to problems. To fix this, simply do a Spotlight search for 1Password, and make sure that there's only 1 instance of it on your Mac. Drag others to the trash. Empty the trash. Reboot your Mac, then launch version 5.
