syncing won't stop?

Every so often when I put in my password for 1 password it will go into a syncing mode. Usually shows it's syncing 1-50 items. Today I had to stop it at 574 items. I was able to open the 1 password application and get a password and after that it was fine. What causes this?
I have added Password to my iPhone but it did the above occasionally prior to that.

    Hi @gopher78,

    How many machines or devices are currently syncing using the sync method you're currently using? It certainly shouldn't be doing that unless something is make massive and sweeping changes so something definitely sounds wrong.

    If you can let us know how many machines and devices and what is running what in terms of either OS X or iOS and what version(s) of 1Password are in the mix. We might ask for a diagnostic report as well once we begin to learn a little more about your situation but we'll cross that bridge later.
