Dropbox Backup

so 1password let you backup all your passwords to DB, but if dropbox gets hacked(not that i want it to happend) and my account got compromised, wil the hacker have acces to all my passwords or is the file encrypted.

    The file is encrypted and no one can open it without your master password. If you use a strong master password, your file would take more time to crack than today's computers can provide.

    Hi @shayant,

    I'd like to make one small point. Technically 1Password doesn't back up to Dropbox, it's placing sync data there so you can keep multiple machines and devices synchronised. The difference is the backups that 1Password makes will span a period of time while the contents of Dropbox will only reflect the vault as it was at the last sync point.

    You may find the distinction incredibly minor from your point of view, I just wanted to put that out there. Both backups and sync data are always encrypted and only accessible using your Master Password.
