@stefanol: Currently it is possible to export only Login items as CSV or text (tab delimited) in 1Password by going to File > Export... to save them to disk. Additionally, it is possible to export all items in your vault as 1PIF, but I would not describe this as 'human-readable' necessarily, as it is intended primarily as a way to transfer your 1Password data, not to archive it.

Most importantly, all exported data is unencrypted, so be careful not to allow it to fall into the wrong hands. You could certainly print these (or import into a spreadsheet, for instance) and store them in a safe deposit box. Of course, we may add additional export format or printing options in a future version, given enough interest. I hope this helps! :)

    Hi @stefanol,

Many folks are not printing out but rather storing their 1Password data on a solid USB drive to put in their safe. You might also find this 1Password emergency PDF useful if you'd like to go the USB route: http://productivityist.com/wp-content/uploads/The-1Password-Emergency-Kit-V3.pdf

Thank your for the helpful replies. In the future it would be great to see full export for all items beyond Logins. Leaving a USB drive in a bank vault is very limited in that it requires the application to view and is not very usable by others in case this is required.

@stefanol Because printing is essentially plain-text export, it is horribly insecure. This is why we recommend you do not print your passwords. If you really must print your passwords, then store them in a safe.

  • Hi @stefanol,

As Stefan mentioned, you're risking the exposure of your data every single time you try to export your data and/or printing. Some printers keep logs of everything it prints, secure deleting might not work well when trying to delete the export files and so on.

That's why it is important to consider the pros and cons, the USB drive is the most secure method you can use.
