Why does 1Password tries to connect to the following host upon unlocking? Everything is cached inside the app, this doesn't look really safe.

1Password 4
/Applications/1Password 4.app
Total: 43,5 kB sent, 142 kB received
Outgoing to d2x2f6qan2kccj.cloudfront.net (54.230.94.183), Port https (443), Protocol TCP (6), 43,5 kB sent, 142 kB received

Please take a look at this knowledge base article (in the security knowledge base) which will answer your question.

Great, but I have Watchover disabled, updates disabled and I didn't alter the 1P database. Why should it check anything?

Thanks, Stephen for pointing this out.

What about rich icons? If those are enabled, 1Password will check the server for those.

    Hi @vadimk ,

I'm glad to hear that the link Stephen provided was helpful to you! Can you let us know if you have rich icons enabled? As Hawkmoth suggests, that's another reason that 1Password will need to contact the servers.
