@supermanjaen: Sorry for the confusion! This isn't a 1Password problem or even a browser problem. The website's certificate is simply not signed by a recognized certificate authority. You'll need to contact the site's administrator if you'd like them to resolve that issue. I hope this helps! :)

@brenty No, it's a problem of the application and the way you need to treat the certificate because in the old application 1Password does not give these problems

@supermanjaen: That's simply false. For example, I just tested this site (https://sedeapl.dgt.gob.es:7443/WEB_COPACI3/consultarPuntos.faces) in both Safari and Chrome on OS X. Both give a security error, but Chrome's is a bit more ominous:

The error message given echoes what I said in my previous post: ERR[or]_CERT[ificate]_AUTHORITY_INVALID

Regardless, 1Password does not manage a certificate store; in all cases, this is handled by the browser or the OS. And in the case of iOS in particular, the Mobile Safari browser engine is the only one available, and this of course is managed solely by Apple. 3rd party apps cannot use their own browser engines; they can only embed Apple's. So if you truly believe that this certificate should be honoured, you'll have to take it up with them.

It may be that you did not receive an error in the past because A the certificate was valid previously or B the certificate authority was at one time trusted by Apple and/or Google; but one thing is clear: it no longer is, and 1Password, in its role as security software, isn't going to override that for you.

P.S: I'm not getting an error at http://geospike.com/popular. However, since that is an insecure URL, 1Password will complain if your login was saved at a secure one. If you use https://geospike.com/popular instead, 1Password will be much happier...and you'll be more secure. :pirate:

@brenty Thank you for your answers. I'm trying to migrate data from the old version of 1 Password to the new. It is quite uncomfortable because the'' old version '' with IOS 9 closes spontaneously and I have to open each Url once to copy data by hand.
I thought that certificates could be managed by the application by simply requesting the user if the authority a certification was confidence. Pity because 1Password, as software security with this option would win much.
As for the "Geospike page" it works with "https"
Another question: what is the best application of data synchronization; iCloud or Dropbox?

  • Hi @supermanjaen,

It is quite uncomfortable because the'' old version '' with IOS 9 closes spontaneously and I have to open each Url once to copy data by hand.

I'm not sure I understand what's wrong. Once you update to iOS 9, the App Store should update your copy of 1Password to 1Password 6, which then should work with the same data you had from iOS 8. Can you explain more about what happened here.

I thought that certificates could be managed by the application by simply requesting the user if the authority a certification was confidence.

This is done by the Safari WebView APIs we use to power the browser. Right now, the API does not support loading the self-signed or invalid certificates. In other words, we can only do what Apple can give us to power the browser.

We've filed a bug report with Apple to allow this selectively like Safari but so far, no progress yet.

Another question: what is the best application of data synchronization; iCloud or Dropbox?

That depends on a few factors:

    1. Do you plan to use 1Password on other platforms like Windows, Android and so on? If yes, Dropbox's the best.
    2. Do you plan to sync more than one vault at a time? Yes, Dropbox's the best
    3. If you only plan to sync one vault and you're using only iOS and/or OS X, then iCloud's the best.

@Mike T The application that I've been using so far is "1Password Version 3.7.2" from Nov.2012. Up to IOS 8 worked perfectly but with IOS 9 no. And not "not is updated to the new version " and also not allow synchronization with Dropbox. When opened it warns of the error and says "Send Report". I have send hundreds of them but you see that already not held. I am slowly updating all accounts but I do it by hand one by one
    Thank you for anorher tips

  • Hi @supermanjaen,

The application that I've been using so far is "1Password Version 3.7.2" from Nov.2012. Up to IOS 8 worked perfectly but with IOS 9 no.

That explains a lot. 1Password 6 is a direct update to 1Password 5, which is also a direct update to 1Password 4. 1Password 3.x is a completely different program that can't be updated to 1Password 4/5/6 and like you said, it was last updated many years ago and would not be compatible with iOS 9.

1Password 3.7.2 just crashes automatically on iOS 9? This is how you would migrate the data from 1Password 3.x to 1Password 4/5/6: https://support.1password.com/upgrade-ios/
