Do I need an off-site backup of 1Password?
I have a synced copy on Dropbox, but do I need something off site in case my computer crashes??

Good question, @Y4jfqyB7Ky.
The short answer is, yes. Dropbox is for syncing and should not be relied upon for backup. It does have a versioning system, but there are some limitations. And, in the short term, if you delete a file in one place, that deletion gets synced to all your other devices. Backups are part of good computing hygiene whether you use 1Password or not. We definitely recommend them going forward if you were not backing up your data in the past.
In addition to syncing with Dropbox (which is only designed for sync not backup), I also back up my Mac…
- hourly using Time Machine with my Time Capsule
- manually to a bootable backup with SuperDuper! (you could also use Carbon Copy Cloner)
- remotely to CrashPlan (you could also use Backblaze)
