I can't get 1password to save my password for https://secureshare.proofpoint.com/

Options

When I go to https://secureshare.proofpoint.com/ and enter my username, 1password doesn't offer to remember my password. I tried the steps you suggest for manually saving a password, by clicking on the gear icon in the mini app and selecting "save new login" but that doesn't do anything either (it doesn't pop up and ask for a name, or do anything).

How can I get 1password to remember my username and password (the next page after you enter your username)? Thanks!

    Hi @therontock,

I took a peek at the site in question. Now I could easily be wrong but it looks like I can't create a test account to see the various pages as it's a multi-page login.

There is one thing I can think to try and I'm wondering if you wouldn't mind testing and seeing if it helps.

Can you create try creating what I call a basic Login item, setting the website field to the above URL, https://secureshare.proofpoint.com/ So what is a basic Login item according to my definition? It's when you create a Login item inside the main 1Password window. I call it basic because it won't know anything about the page it's trying to fill but this won't make a difference if we're dealing with a multi-page login anyway. So you'll manually create the Login item, filling in the website field, username and password.

Does this Login item work when you attempt to fill this page?

    Hi Robert'); DROP TABLE Students;--

Thanks for your help. I have it working now. A few things were wrong. First was that I was trying to access the site using incognito mode in chrome, and had failed to mark the extension as enabled in incognito mode. It would be nice if 1password could somehow detect this and warn, though I understand if the extension isn't loaded that might be hard...

Once I had the extension issue figured out, I was able to use "save new login" from the screen that prompts for username and password together. However, if I am on just the first page (the https://secureshare.proofpoint.com/ one, that asks for username alone) it still doesn't work to click the gear icon and select "save new login" -- nothing seems to happen.

I was able to go to the entry I did create and update it to include my username, as well as include the extra URL for secureshare. And now I can hit cmd-\ on both the first screen and the second screen, and my username and password are correctly filled in. So yay! And now I know how to set up an entry manually. But it would still be nice if some sort of message popped up or something when I click "save new login" from the gear menu from the initial secureshare page, rather than just having it do nothing.

BTW, if you want to test, you can use my username to get to the password screen, which is removed by AgileBits . But the issue seems to be on just the initial page, which again is:
    https://secureshare.proofpoint.com/

    Thanks again for your help!

    Hello @therontock,

Ah, incognito mode. Yeah that one might be tricky. To gain access to an incognito window you have to have a normal window loaded at some point and of course for the 1Password Chrome Extension to be available at all it must have been loaded in that normal window. Even if you close the normal window, leaving you with just the incognito one the extension is still loaded. In fact Chrome doesn't remove extensions from memory until you quit, even if a second profile isn't being used.

I suspect this is why 1Password isn't reporting the non-existence of the 1Password Chrome Extension like it would if the extension wasn't installed at all. You can replicate this by disabling the 1Password Chrome Extension in your profile and checking 1Password mini, there will be a new line at the top that says Add Chrome Extension.... I'm not sure there will be an easy way to tell or not but I can certainly ask the developer and see if there are any inspired ideas

So I'm glad to hear that despite a couple of bumps that you now have a working Login item  I will tae a peek at the page but just to let you know I removed your personal details from the post as these are public forums and we do take your privacy seriously.

Should you come across any other problematic sites please do post and we'll see if we can help.

I forgot to say @therontock, I genuinely laughed out loud earlier and you brought a huge smile to my face with how you greeted me. Thank for
