Why isn't "Search" immediately available in the Android app?

In the iOS app, as soon as you've opened the app, the "Search" field is immediately visible.

In the Android app, you have to tap at least 3 times before you can see the "Search" field, which is incredibly bad, given how this is by far the most used feature in this kind of an app.

Did you do this intentionally, because perhaps you have UX research data saying that Android users search less than iOS or computer users do? Or is it simply an omission in design? This is the only problem I have with the Android app (now that fingerprint unlock has finally made it to the beta), but it's an unbelievably annoying one.

  • Hi @Davor. Making search easier is one of our most requested improvements, and also very high on our priority list for upcoming updates. We're planning on making improvements to search for an upcoming beta. If all goes well with beta testing, we're hoping to have this improved in the stable version soon as well. Thanks!
