    HI @geni,

Thanks for bringing your issue to us here on the forums.

That's very interesting, I am wondering if those characters are very similar in appearance, but not the exact same character?

I'd be interested if you could copy and paste both of those letters here in the forum and we can try and compare them.

I also wonder if you copy-pasted one of the "Ö" from one item to the other if it would combine them or not?

    Hi Nathan,
Thank's for your interest in my issue

First the copy paste taken directly from 1Password6:
    ÖBB
    Österreichische Post

May be interesting: on my iPad2 (synced with the MAC) it sorts correctly :)

No, I didn't copy pasted the letter Ö from one item to another one.

here some more German 'Umlaute': Ö, ö, Ü, ü, Ä, ä (might cause also problems in sorting???)

    Best regards
    ernst

  • Hi @geni,

I looked at the two Ö characters from your post, they are indeed the same character, assuming the web browser didn't change them.

Can you try to copy the Ö from one entry, and paste it in the other entry and then save it. Does it sort correctly after trying that?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Hi Kevin,
copied the 'Ö' from "ÖBB" to "Österreichische Post"
    no change in sorting
When I have a look at the sorting order then it seems that 'Ö' is interpreted as an 'O'
    see to the list:
    ÖB (B)
    OE (AMTC)
    on (line...)
    Op (encaching..)
    OR (F...)
    .....
    Ös (terreichische Post)

Please keep in mind that the sorting at the iPad2 is correct!

  • Hi @geni,

Thanks for pointing that out. I completely missed that it's sorting "correctly" if interpreting the Ö as O. It appears the bug in creating a section heading. I've submitted a bug report to get this fixed.

Thank you for reporting this issue, and especially for the screenshot. It will be useful when fixing the issue.

    Cheers,
    Kevin
