    From your description, it sounds like you're clicking on the 1Password icon in your Mac's menubar (or in your web browser's toolbar). That opens 1Password mini, which gives you quick and easy access to your data. And if you have the 1Password browser extension installed, 1Password mini can also work with your web browser to save and fill your Login details on websites.

    At the top of the 1Password mini window is the Search field which you can use to search for an item in your vault. Below that is the Password Generator, which you can use to generate strong, random passwords. We have more information about 1Password mini in our user guide here: 1Password mini
