2 Requests For Improvement

The easy one:

I previously used "Password Manager XP". In IE, it hooks into the right-click menu for form elements and lets one fill in the appropriate data. Very convenient. For more on this, see: http://cp-lab.com/form-filler.html

I miss this feature and it would be great if you could add it to 1password.

The (possibly) contentious one:

Wi-Fi sync. with my iPhone. I know that this feature is currently marked "not going to happen." Please reconsider! It IS possible to do: SplashID Safe for Windows does it, as does Ascendo DataVault, for example. I 100% don't like using Dropbox for this. (IMHO) as a security tool vendor, you should appreciate my desire to keep my info safely within my own LAN. Regardless of how secure you/Dropbox tells me it's service is. And regardless of the fact that the 1password stuff is heavily encrypted.

Cheers,

BOB

    Welcome to the forum, Bob!

I always avoid classifying things as easy or hard, unless I'm the one doing the work. :D Integration with the browser's right-click menu isn't something I've heard discussed around the virtual water cooler.

Wi-Fi sync'ing, on the other hand, has been discussed a great deal, and (as you mentioned) it's just not on the table for the foreseeable future. Of course, we never say "never" at AgileBits!

Thanks for letting us know what features would be useful to you.

I think 'never' has surely arrived, judging by other postings on this forum!

Even though you say that 'seamless' (mac style) syncing is not possible (I can't see why this should be the case...pretty sure I could come up with something very close and as I pointed out, other products are already doing it), perhaps a feature such as that offered by GoodReader is possible:

    http://www.goodreader.net/gr-man-tr-wifi.html

Although, I have to say that if you can do that, you should be able to integrate it into your own codebase in a nicer fashion...in effect you control client-side UI, server-side UI and protocol.

This has a similar feature as well: http://www.venticentostudio.it/site/iAccounts.htm

    Cheers,

    Thanks again, Bob.

Please note that I didn't say it couldn't be done, but that "it's just not on the table for the foreseeable future."

I also added that "we never say 'never'" because something could happen to make us change our minds about Wi-Fi sync'ing.

We're nothing if not agile. :)
