Is there a way to sync Family vault between computers on local network, not via cloud?

1Password Families cannot be used without storing data in the cloud. I want to be very forthright about that. However, there are many reasons that you should feel confident using 1Password Families.

Secure by design

1Password automatically secures all the information stored in your vaults with the industry-standard AES encryption algorithm. This means that only you can access the data that you have stored in 1Password.

Master Password with key strengthening

1Password also uses something called Password-Based Key Derivation Function 2 to protect your Master Password. This makes it harder for someone to learn your Master Password by making a bunch of guesses in rapid succession, usually with the help of an automated cracking tool. Between PBKDF2 and the AES encryption algorithm that defends the rest of your data, it's extremely difficult for someone to undermine the security used to protect 1Password sync data.

Two-Secret Key Derivation (Account Key + Master Password)

Last but not least is the Account Key. This one is unique to 1Password Families. Your Account Key is a 128-bit string of random characters that is included in your Emergency Kit when you first create an account. Combined with your Master Password, your Account Key works similarly to two-factor authentication (2FA), but is much more powerful. This combination is not only used to encrypt your data, but also to authorize a device. Like your Master Password, it is never sent over the Internet, and your data cannot be decrypted without it.

Easy sharing comes standard

1Password Families also allows you to easily create vaults and share them with your family. All of these features are included with a 1Password Families subscription:

• Share and sync without the need of a third-party sync service. Setting up syncing with Dropbox can be confusing for some folks. With 1Password Families, you sign in and all your data is there. (Of course, if you don't want to use a cloud service, not even Dropbox would be an option for you.)
• New vaults automatically show up for family members. When you create a new vault, you can add people to it automatically. They don’t need to do anything to see it and begin using it on their end.
• Set permissions for each family member on each vault. Some passwords can be set to read-only, for example.
• Recover accounts if your family members forget their Master Passwords. This is a huge one. We have always prided ourselves on our security model which has no back door. While we still can’t recover anyone’s accounts, you can now recover accounts for your family.
• View, edit, and add items from any browser. The 1Password Families web app means you always have access to your data even if you are away from your main devices.

If you are cloud averse

If you end up deciding that you would still prefer to sync locally, you can cancel your 1Password Families subscription and buy a license of 1Password as a one-time purchase. There is no ongoing subscription in that case, but you miss out on all the sharing benefits. And each person will need their own license.

You can set up Wi-Fi Sync between your computers and mobile devices. Wi-Fi Sync enables you to keep your data in sync whenever 1Password is open and your devices are connected to the same wireless network. When you use Wi-Fi Sync, your 1Password data is stored only on the devices you're syncing. Learn more about setting up Wi-Fi Sync on all your devices.

Note, though, that Wi-Fi Sync only works between a computer and a mobile device. You would need to set up some kind of local syncing using Folder Sync if you wanted to sync data between two Macs or two PCs on the same local network.
