Quick question: what's powering these forums? The AgileBits' forum is by far the nicest one I've ever used. :-)
Could you also elaborate on its security? Hacked forums are a common sight online (Avast, ArsTechnica, and countless others).

    Hi @KyCuongHuynh ,

    It is Vanilla Forums, but customized by the AgileBits folks too.

    Thanks @MrC!

    Do you happen to know if they self-host it?

    Hi @KyCuongHuynh,

    Almost nobody "self-hosts" directly anymore, but use hosting providers, virtual servers, etc. Probably Vanilla Forums uses Rackspace for the virtual servers, and AgileBits purchases the virtual hosting services through Vanilla.

    FYI:

    Probably AgileBits would need to address any more specifics and correct any of my errors.

    @MrC: Thank you!

    That's a pretty cool route visualizer. Which one is it?

  • Hi guys,

    @KyCuongHuynh, our forum is hosted by Vanilla's cloud team and they're handing all of the services and security for us. Here's Vanilla's security whitepaper on how they handle security: https://images.v-cdn.net/vfcom/docs/VanillaForumsSecurityOverview.pdf

    We have a direct line to their support team that'll handle any breaches or security issues for us. We do have our own 24/7 team that is monitoring the forum and we will take the forum down in the event of any situations with a notice to our customers.

    We do not store any critical data in the forum and always advise our customers to email us directly for any critical issues. Our team, of course, create their own accounts here and do not reuse it with any other services, we are treating this as a third party public tool and nothing more than that.

    If you have any specific questions, let us know, we'd be happy to answer or if it is something we don't know, we'll get in touch with Vanilla for you.
