Feature request: Share vault item updates automatically when item is changed in personal vault.

Since the item has already been shared it is important to keep any changes made in personal vault current with shared vault. Why the extra step of having to copy it again, then go and delete the old one? If you forget to update, well things won't work in share.

@nrubado items kept in different vaults are separated by design. In your case an item copied from the Personal vault to the Shared vault updating on its own would be a useful feature. But what about the opposite -- if someone changed the item in the Shared vault without your knowledge would you also want it shared in the Personal vault? Other users might not want items to automatically update either. While the current setup can be irksome, it's also the setup that respects the boundaries between vaults, which should be heeded :)

What about a read-only "shared reference" feature where only the master item can be updated?

Although this does raise the question of why you'd want the item in both shared and personal vaults (rather than just shared) if the intention is for it to remain in sync.

    Hi @antplant

While that's an interesting idea, it sounds like it would add quite some confusion to 1Password. I think the key is the second part of your post: if you want to share the item it's better to move it than to copy it :chuffed:
