Hello,

I'm running the 1Password 6 Beta on my work pc connected to my personal 1Password for Families Account.
My Work PC is connected to a proxy at work with no direct internet access (just through the proxy).

When I start 1Password 6 the window appears but is just white for some minutes after the passwort prompt appears.

After entering the passwort the software works as usual.

In the log I see the following exceptions:

No JSON from GET https://[...].1password.com/api/v1/auth/[...]/[...]/- with error 0x8013153b and message Eine Aufgabe wurde abgebrochen.! Would be nice to find a solution for this. Have to use the families page to quick access a password.

Thanks for your Help,
Marc

  • Hi @virtualmarc,

This is a proxy issue, the app is trying to check for an update before it shows the unlock view and that is the white screen you're seeing. This will be improved to do the check at the same time as the unlock view is done, not prior to it.

I'm surprised you said it works fine after you unlocked the app, is it possible that you're working on a local cache that hasn't been transmitted yet to our servers as it is waiting for the connection?

Could you email us at support+windowsbeta@agilebits.com with the link to this thread and I'll explain how you can get around this proxy issue.

Please do let us know when you've sent the email here, so we can confirm we got it.

    Thanks!

    Hello @MikeT,

    thanks for your answer.
The e-mail is sent, I also attached a full log.

I also got some update notifications before. (With the old method, the click once application, and with the new one over hockey app).

I just checked some passwords I changed at home, mobile or on the web in the last time and have seen that these changes have not been synced to 1PW6 on my work pc. It's still on the initial sync when I installed it.

  • Hi @virtualmarc,

Okay, that makes more sense and confirms the proxy is the cause. I've replied to your email with a possible workaround.

    Hi @MikeT,

the workaround worked. Like I wrote in my response mail I now got an update and remote changes have been synced.

Just the update made some problems since it silently installed to C and not to the directory I installed it previous.

Yep, I've replied to your email about that one. It's a confirmed bug and we'll get that fixed in a future update.

    Hi,

Would it be possible for you to share the workaround for the proxy issues? I'm behind a corporate proxy and cannot login to my 1Password for Families account.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

I'm also hitting the same issue for the same reason.

  • Hi @rustyd0g / @Kumnaa,

    Try doing the following here:

    1. Open Start, search for NotePad, right-click on it to select "Run as Administrator"
    2. In NotePad, go to the File Menu > Open, on the bottom right next to the file name, change from Text Documents (*.txt) to All Files (*.*), and then open this file: Program Files (x86) > 1Password 6 > AgileBits.OnePassword.Desktop.exe.config
    3. Search for the system.net block and modify it to look like this screenshot: and save it.
    4. Restart the 1Password app, can you connect now?

That seesm to have done the trick. It's spotted an update as well which it wasn't doing before.

    Thanks, MikeT.

  • You're welcome!
