license key invalid

in Mac

recently had my hard drive replace. I am reinstalling 1PW. Error message notifying me the license key is invalid. please help

1Password Version: 6.x
Extension Version: Not Provided
OS Version: os 10.11.6
Sync Type: dropbox
Referrer: forum-search:my laptop had the HD replaced. When I enter in my license key it tells me it is invalid.

    Hi @lairlf ,

    It sounds like you found an old license key from 1Password 3 and are trying to install it in 1Password 6. If you've upgraded since version 3, you would have received an email with a licence file (not a key) as an attachment. If you can find that email, double-click the attachment and it should then license 1Password
