Entering user name and password in apps

I am using the free version of 1Password app on iPhone 5s and everything is up-to-date to the latest version.

I have lots of apps that require me to enter user name and password but the 1P prompt doesn't show up when I put my cursor in the user name or the password field.

Previously (probably one year ago?) a key used to show up (just above the iPhone's keyboard), letting me to finger-print login to 1P and enter the user name and password for that specific item/ site.
