I can't find out how to open standalone password generator from the main window. It seems to be accessible only from 1Password mini.

1Password Version: 6.5.400d
Extension Version: Not Provided
OS Version: Windows 10 (1607)
Sync Type: 1Password account

  • Hi there,

You're right, the standalone version of the password generator is only available via 1Password mini or by right clicking the 1Password icon in the system tray. You can however open the password generator when you're editing an item by tapping the key icon next to the password field.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi @the_ress,

1Password Password Generator is a quicker way of creating a Password item in the main 1Password app, that's why it only exists outside of the main 1Password app. When you're in there, use New Item > Password and generate the password there.

You can always do Cntl + Alt + \ to bring up 1Password mini and click on the generator icon there to create a new password. Once you copy it, it'll create the Password item for you in the background.
