Dropbox sync issue

I noticed today that 1Password on my iPhone hasn’t synced to Dropbox successfully in a number of days. When I went into the Sync settings on my iPhone, I got this error:

The 1Password.agilekeychain file cannot be found in Dropbox. Syncing has been disabled.
1Password encountered a problem.

I tried setting up syncing again, and although 1Password correctly reports that the two keychains differ only by a single item (present on my iPhone but not synced to Dropbox), choosing to merge the two keychains produces the same error.

Before I go ahead and delete my keychain from Dropbox and start syncing fresh, is there a possibility this is a beta bug?

1Password Version: 6.6 (660015)

    @sentience,

Thanks for contacting us, this definitely sounds like it could be related to our updating of the dropbox implementation to the v2 API.

I'd like to ask you to enable some extra logging in the app, enable sync, and then create a Diagnostics Report from your iOS device:

Start by going to 1Password > Settings > Advanced > Diagnostics > Log Settings, and tap "Dropbox" and "Sync" to enable logging of Dropbox and Sync operations.

Re-enable Dropbox sync on that vault, then follow these instructions to bundle up your logs and send them to us:

    Sending Diagnostics Reports (iOS)

Attach the Diagnostics Report(s) to an email message addressed to support+forum@agilebits.com.

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report(s) in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report(s) in our inbox.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here so we can track down the report(s) and ensure that this issue is dealt with quickly. :)

Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks very much!

Mine doesn't flash an error, but the "Sync now" button seems to do nothing. And it hasn't synced for a week. Other vaults synced a few days ago, but their "Sync now" button also seems not to work.

  • @rubygrrl42,

Are you using the 6.6 beta version or the current release version?

    6.6 Beta

  • @rubygrrl42,

We've got another beta coming shortly, could you try that one out and see if the behavior is improved? It should be 6.6 Beta 16.

If its not we'll probably want to gather a diagnostics report to see if we can see where its failing.

  • @rubygrrl42,

If you turn off Dropbox sync and then turn it back on again via Settings -> Sync does the sync now button work again?

Turning off Dropbox sync then turning it back on again did force a sync.

Also, beta 16 seems to have fixed the sync button.

Excellent! Thanks for the update. I'm glad to hear that helped, and that the new beta is being more cooperative! It sounds like you should be all set, but don't hesitate to reach out if we can be of further assistance. Cheers! :)
