Question concerning how HTTP Basic authentication should work

With delight I've read that version 0.9.2 supports filling of HTTP Basic authentication forms.
Maybe I'm doing this wrong, but it does not seem to work here. I've tried on some internal websites and also here: https://www.httpwatch.com/httpgallery/authentication/

When the popup shows, it does not matter if I invoke 1P by shortcut or click on the icon, it does not fill anything.
I have to say though that I manually created login items before trying to authenticate so maybe that's the problem.
As the extension is currently not able to save any logins I had no other way to test that.

Is it a layer-8-problem?

    Hey @Manaburner,

It looks like there might be a little bug when filling consecutive basic access authentication forms. I'm going to dig into this and see what's causing it.

When fixed, you'll be able to either navigate to a website, active 1Password, and fill a login item containing the username and password credentials like this. Or you'll be able to execute a Go & Fill (which will authenticate you without seeing the prompt) like so.

I'll let you know when we get this resolved.

The basic auth fill isn't working for me yet as well! If I can provide you with a environment to reproduce it, please let me know!

@tdegroot96: I'm able to reproduce it on my end, so we should be good to get this resolved. If not, I'll reach out for help. I'm pretty excited to get this working everywhere! ;)

    Thanks for your help!

  • Filling Http Auth prompts should be much more reliable in 0.9.4. Please update and confirm it’s working better for you.

    Thanks!
