I have a 1Password 3 license and want to upgrade to high sierra on my new macbook pro. Please help!

Do I need to buy something or just upgrade? When I try to upgrade, I continue to get a message to try later.

    @adven7: Thanks for reaching out. I’m sorry for the trouble! Indeed, a lot has changed in the years since 1Password 3 was discontinued, and it cannot talk to our servers anymore. With a 1Password.com membership, you get access to all of the apps, the web interface, and it does away with license management and sync configuration altogether — you simply login to your account to authorize a device and access your data. You can try it for free for 30 days to take advantage of all of its benefits. That includes 1Password for Mac version 6, which supports Sierra fully, and can also read your existing AgileKeychain vault so you can easily migrate your data:
