I have a family member that is perfectly happy with using version 6 of 1Password (if it ain't broke, don't fix it..). I have sent them an invitation to be a family member. If the invitation is accepted, is MUST version 7 be used?

1Password Version: 6.8.9; 7.0.7

OS Version: Mac OS 10.13.6

  • Hi @nancyagee,

Not at the moment, but it should be. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” doesn’t really apply to security software. ;) Security is a moving target and so improvements are constantly made to keep ahead of the curve. 1Password 6 will stop working at some point, and there isn’t much point in delaying the inevatable here. As part of a 1Password Families membership the upgrade to v7 doesn’t cost anything.

    Ben

Thanks! One step at a time... First get them to join as a family member, then encourage them to upgrade!
