Enabling 2fa retrospectively

I have a number of devices logged in to 1pwd and I would like to retrospectively enable 2fa at 1password.com. What happens on current logged in devices? Am I prompted for the 2fa on next use or will I be prompted for master password and 2fa code?
Thanks

  • Hi @3bridges

I actually just went through this process with one of my memberships myself. On my Mac, where 1Password was already unlocked, I was only prompted for the TOTP code. My iPhone also already had 1Password unlocked, but enabling TOTP didn’t cause anything to happen until I quit and re-launched the app. Once I quit and relaunched I was prompted to unlock and then enter the TOTP code. On my iPad 1Password was locked and I had to unlock 1Password and then enter the TOTP code.

So in short the answer is a bit variable based on platform and lock state.

    Ben
