unsupported qr code

The url is of this format

otpauth://hotp/<12-char-tag>?secret=<32-char-secret>&counter=1&digits=6&issuer=<company_name_with_space_%20>

I was able to manually enter in the edit form using the <12-char-tag> and the <32-char-secret>
But it failed later in a resync process required by our IT: I have to enter 2 consecutive generated codes to do resync. However this resync process failed

1) anyway I can get this to work?
2) anything I can tell our IT people to enable this (not sure if they will tough)

thanks

  • Hi there, @Jameswnl, and thanks for getting in touch. At this time 1Password does not support HOTP one-time passwords. If you were given a TOTP secret things would be fine, but as you said I’m not sure your IT folks would want to deploy a large-scale change like that. Are there other apps where you can use this URL successfully? Authy or Google Authenticator, perhaps?

Hi @MrRooni thanks for the reply.
Yes, Google Authenticator, FreeOTP, Yubikey all work fine

  • Very interesting, thanks for the info!
