alphabet search

Options

I have started using 1password with windows 10 after using with mac for many years. I dont like it as much. The first thing ive noticed is that the alphabet search down the right hand side of the logins in the app and in the extension is missing. Is this something I can turn? on because i use it all the time. I hate scrolling to want i want.

    Hi @asukulu,

Thank you for getting in touch!

Search in 1Password 7 for Windows includes all fields, so instead of scrolling the list of the Logins in your vault, you can start typing the name of the Login in the Search field:

Could you please give it a try and let me know how it works for you? Thank you! :+1:

    Hi @asukulu,

There is no alphabet on the sidebar in 1Password for Mac:

Do you mean 1Password for iOS and its alphabet index? It looks like this in 1Password on an iPhone:

The thing is that this alphabet index is a feature built into the iOS operating system itself. It is designed for the touchscreen use and it doesn't exist on the desktop OS's. There is no API or UI element for that on desktop, because there is no use for it. If you want to go between your items faster, you can press c on your keyboard when your Login list is selected, the selection will go straight to c.

Please let me know if my hunch is correct here. Thank you!

@asukulu: That is correct. This alphabet index is a feature that is built into iOS, so it is not available in 1Password (or any other apps) on other OS's.

I hope it clarifies the confusion. Thanks! :+1:
