How do I reset just one vault?

Hi! I'm using 1PW v7.3.2 for Mac. I recently created a new teams account, but I forgot the MP. I'm the admin, so there is no way to recover the MP, which is okay. I'm happy to start over. How do I reset just this one vault while leaving my other three vaults intact?

@matt77: Thanks for reaching out. I’m sorry for the trouble. If all of these vaults are in that same account which you do not know the Master Password for, there's not going to be a way for you to do anything with any of them. Do you have your data accessible to you on any device?

(Un)fortunately AgileBits has neither access to your 1Password data nor the Master Password used to secure it, so this isn't something we can 'reset' for you to help directly. However, please try the tips in this guide as they may help you gain access again:

    https://support.1password.com/forgot-master-password/

Alternatively, if there is another admin, they can help you recover your account, so you can create a new Secret Key and Master Password:

    https://support.1password.com/recovery/#begin-recovery

You can try as many times as you want. You won’t be “locked out”, but you will not be able to access your data unless you can enter the required Master Password correctly. Please let me know how it turns out.

Hmmm. I may not be understanding the 1pw multi-vault architecture correctly. I do know my MP that allows me to open up the application and access all of my vaults. One of the vaults attached to my account, is a teams account, for which I'm also the (only) admin. I've moved all my logins from this account to my personal account (again, where I know my MP). Now, I'd like to reset only this teams account only. How do I do that?

  • @matt77

I think I follow. You can't "reset" it, if you're the only admin. If there are no items left in the teams membership you can delete it. Note that this will also delete all other users, vaults, and data within that team. To do so please follow the prompts here:

    https://my.1password.com/support

Enter the email address associated with the teams account. :)

Thanks @Ben. I'm still stuck, though. Deleting the account requires me to login to my account, which requires having my (forgotten) MP: https://support.1password.com/delete-account/

Is there another procedure for deleting it?

@matt77: As mentioned at the end of that guide, deleting an account does not require logging in (though that is one way to do it), but you will need to have access to the account's registered email address to complete it:

    1. In a web browser, go to https://start.1password.com/support , enter the account's email address, and click "Continue"
    2. Click the blue button in the email you receive to view your account(s)
    3. Click the account you want to delete
    4. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and click "Delete Account" to confirm.

After that, to sign up for a new account: https://start.1password.com/signup/plan

I hope this helps. Be sure to let me know if you have any other questions! :)

Thanks, @brenty. Unfortunately, I'm still stuck.

The link in the email takes me a page that lists my account (as expected). Clicking on my account takes me to a URL that looks like:
    https://start.1password.com/support/account/[token]

That page has no mention of "Delete Account". Here's the entirety of what's available for me on the page:

You’re part of a team account and can request a recovery.
Ask your administrator to help you recover your account.

    Find your Secret Key.
    A3-****** •••••• ••••• ••••• ••••• •••••
You’ll need your Secret Key every time you sign in to your account on a new device. You can find it on any device where you’re already signed in to your account or in your Emergency Kit. Learn how to find your Secret Key.

My other team member (who knows his MP) also went through the above process with the same result. Neither of us can see how/where to delete things. Both of us have cleared all the content out of our private vault, so we just need help starting fresh.

Okay, thanks. There is another way we can go about this. I'm going to send you an email so we can discuss the details in private. :)
