Membership verses Licencse

I'd like to know what I don't get with a license that I would get with a membership?

The standalone license offers you unlimited devices but only for the OS you buy it in. For example only Mac or only Windows.

Where are my password files being stored with a membership, on my Mac, on your servers or both?

Your passwords are being stored in both, your computer and 1Passwords' servers, which means you will still have access to your passwords even when you won't have internet access.
