The usual workflow (cmd-$, return) often no longer works, I have to manually click "fill"

When I hit cmd-$, 1password correctly shows me the right entry, but when I hit Return, it doesn't fill the fields and reverts to the list.
It works if I click on "FIll".
This is not systematic. If I click back in the username field and try again, it sometimes works.
This happened before the OSX Catalina upgrade

1Password Version: 7.3.2
Extension Version: 4.7.5.90
OS Version: OSX 10.15
Sync Type: Dropbox

    I'm having the same problem; started when I was using Chrome on Mac Mojave and problem has continued on Catalina. I've tried upgrading to the latest 1Password beta and the fill still only works inconsistently when using the Enter key or double-clicking on a login credential.
