1Password opens itself when phone enters Battery Saver mode

Hi guys,
I've just noticed a (minor) bug which I don't think I've come across before.
Here's how to reproduce:

  • when the 1P app is configured to switch to dark mode automatically (Settings > Display > Theme > Set by Battery Saver)
  • and the 1P app is locked
  • and you're using another app, or no app at all (just have the android launcher visible)
  • and then your phone goes into Battery Saver mode (either because of a low battery or because you turn it on manually)
  • then 1P pops up asking me to unlock with my fingerprint / master password

Hope this helps you pin it down!
Many thanks

Also happens under the same circumstances when Battery Saver is turned off again (either manually or by plugging the phone in to charge)

  • Hi @ra_, thanks for reporting this to us :)

We've seen a few reports about this (and it's happening on my device too), could you tell me which device you're using?

It sounds like you're already aware of this, but the workaround for now is to manually set the theme in 1Password's Settings > Display menu, you won't then be prompted to unlock when Battery Saver comes on.

Thanks, will change that setting for now

I'm seeing this behaviour on a Xiaomi Redmi 4X phone (running normal Android, not their MIUI OS)

  • Cheers @ra_, I'll let you know when I hear anything about this being fixed :)
