Virtual Keyboard

Virtual Keyboard helps defend against keyloggers. If you select the Anti spy check box to enable this feature your keystrokes cannot be tracked. We recommend the use of the virtual keyboard in airports, cafes and other public places. The default keyboard shortcut to launch virtual keyboard is Ctrl+Alt+K. You can change this shortcut in Settings.

The feature is explained here: https://help.eset.com/password_manager/2/en-US/app_accounts.html?tools.html

How are you imagining this feature helping you exactly @CoreyCorey?

A keylogger is something that impacts your whole device, so the network where you use your device is quite irrelevant. If you computer is infected by a keylogger, your keystrokes will be tracked even if you are on your trusted home network.

The way I see it, you can fall into two different scenarios:

    1. You know that you have a keylogger on your device. In this case, the solution is to remove the keylogger itself, not to try to avoid the issue by using temporary solution. In this case, your device is infected, and you should clean it.
    2. You don't know that you have a keylogger on your device. This is the most dangerous situation, but if you don't know that you are infected, how do you know that you should use the virtual keyboard? Should you just use the virtual keyboard all the time, in case your device is infected?

If you are afraid of keyloggers, your best options are regular malware scans, and applying security updates promptly and regularly.
