1Password storing data in iCloud even when iCloud is not the sync method?

I sync between my Mac and my iPhone via the WLAN server (only). But I noticed that 1Password indicates on my Mac that it is storing some (unknown) data on iCloud. Specifically, if I navigate to Settings > Apple ID > iCloud Drive > Options > 1Passsword 7 is checked. I did not check it. Is 1Password storing my data in iCloud? Or is this checked by default so as to allow 1Password to store data in iCloud If I request it?
