How Does Each Member of my Family Get a Unique Master Password?

I have invited multiple members of my family to join the Family 1Password account and I have successfully linked each user to their own password vault. However, it appears that each family member has to use my master password to open 1Password on their machine, rather than have their own password. Do I have something misconfigured and how can I change this behavior?

Did they sign in using their own email and secret key, as well as only being signed into their account?

To be honest, I didn't realize that when they were invited to join the family, that they were assigned their own secret key, is that true?

  • It is, yes. They don't need and shouldn't have your email address, Secret Key, or Master Password in order to sign into their account within your membership. :)
