    Hi @monam! Welcome to the forum!

    The first time you configure the 1Password app, you need to enter both the Master Password and the Secret Key. After the first setup, you will be able to unlock the 1Password app with the Master Password only.

    that works as long as I do not sign out of the app (only when it times me out). if I sign out of the app then I need to log in with both secret key and master password. is that what you're experiencing too?

    That's correct, this is how things are supposed to work. It should not be necessary to sign out of the app all the time however, can you please elaborate on your scenario a little bit? Is there a reason why you are explicitly signing out after configuring the app, instead of letting it lock automatically?
