1PX popup shows underneath modals with z-index 2147483647

I saw a site with the login/signup form in a modal window powered by this "Featherlight" jQuery plugin: https://noelboss.github.io/featherlight/
Annoyingly, it sets the z-index on the modal to 2147483647, which I suppose is the maximum z-index allowed.

Even though the 1PX popup elements get injected lower down in the DOM, they still show underneath the modal for some reason.

    I've asked our developers to investigate the matter. Hopefully they'll be able to improve things on our side if possible. :chuffed:
