Why do some links I save not become logins?

I save a link in what I think is the normal way and when I go to use it later - it is missing my username. So I edit and add this field. And eventually 1p asks me if I want to make this a login. All this takes time. What am I doing wrong? Or what is 1p doing wrong? Thank you!
