Happy December everyone! 🎉

Our teams have been hard at work fixing up user-submitted issues as an early holiday gift. From all us at 1Password, we hope you have a wonderful and safe holiday season this year! 🎁🎄

1Password for Linux 🐧

Ringing in the end of 2020 is 1Password for Linux Beta 0.9.7 — in this update, our Password Generator is now available! Simply edit an item, select the password, and our password generator will immediately appear with suggestions. 😍

As always, we have a lot of additional bug fixes. Several fields have been moved around for clarity. In the edit interface, we also protect against the loss of changes in progress when changes to the same item arrive from other clients. Check out our release notes .

We are still doing a lot of work behind the scenes, but all of our teams are starting to leave for end of the year vacations. Work will be slowing down, so, this, 0.9.7, will be our last release of 2020. We will return for 0.9.8 in early January, and we will have quite a few new things coming up then!

1Password for Mac 🖥

Just like opening that first door on the LEGO Advent calendar to reveal a small, yet enjoyable set to build — we have a fresh beta with small, yet enjoyable bug fixes and improvements to this latest build of 1Password for Mac 7.7.1.BETA-3

In this build, we’ve changed the background of the item list sort control to fit a bit better on Big Sur, made favorited items easier to find, corrected an issue where folks were seeing early master password timeout if they had more than one biometry-enabled Mac configured for biometry unlock, and we’ve even fixed an issue that could prevent Privacy integration from being enabled. These are just a few of the changes made, so make sure you read over everything over on our Update Server for the full details!

1Password for iOS 📱

As you begin to ponder which pie filling to use this holiday season, or what knick-knacks to fill the stockings with, take heart in knowing this latest beta release of 1Password for iOS improves the filling experience for many situations, and includes a number a bug fixes too!

In 7.7.1.BETA-0 corrected a bug that would result in the password generator generating one additional password during saving, and we’ve also improved filling on multiple websites based on reports we’ve received. We love hearing from you! Get in touch with us on our discussions forum to let us know if you have any feedback.

1Password for Android 🤖

With the holiday season upon us, we bring you 1Password for Android 7.7.3.BETA-3 with a warm drink in our hands! In this release, we’ve improved sync with your 1Password account to better handle conflicting changes made to items on other devices. On Android 11, Autofill results are shown in the suggestion strip of the keyboard when using Chrome 89 or later. How awesome is that?

We hope you enjoy this update and share your feedback on Google Play and in the 1Password Support Community !

1Password X 🚀

The extensions team has been hard at work fixing up absolutely tons of issues that everyone has submitted over the past few weeks, as well implementing some nifty improvements as well!

In 1.23.1.beta you’ll find that the New Item menu has been widened to accommodate longer titles (like Password Generator), we’ve changed how titles work, so that if they exceed the width of the New Item menu, they’ll now display on hover, and 1Password will now show up less frequently in email and account fields where Autofill isn’t desired. This is seriously just the tip of the iceberg though, there are tons of goodies packed into this update, so go read all about them over here!

Random But Memorable 🎙

From eavesdropping robot vacuums to smart-connected cat litter boxes, join us this week for our Internet of Things Special (or Indigestion of Turkey Special) as Matt coined it. Listen as we unravel a whole host of fun and frightening stories around smart devices.

Just in time for Christmas, Jen Caltrider from Mozilla joins the show to walk us through “Privacy Not Included: A Buyer’s Guide for Connected Products” to help you shop for safe and smart products that connect to the internet.

Plus, keep listening for Play Your Passwords Right: Gaming Edition 🎮 This includes “the most surprising one we’ve ever had.” Yep. You heard it here first, folks.

Here’s where you can listen to Random but Memorable:

With the end of year in sight, this issue of This Week @ 1Password will be the last one for 2020, so make sure to catch us right here in the Spring of 2021 to catch up on everything 1Password! 💙🔐
