update 7.6 to 7.7 failed

The App Store notified me that 1PW 7.7 was available (I currently use 7.6). However the usually smooth update failed. The message after downloading is: "The update for 1 password 7 couldn't be completed. Try again later."

I tried several times 'later' minutes hours and days, the message was persistent
pls help!

    Try replacing the installed version.

    1. Quit Safari and any other open web browsers.

      • No lights under the browser icons.
    2. Open and then quit 1Password completely.

    • Look for our helper in the menu bar near the WiFi indicator and the clock. Right-click on the helper and select quit 1Password completely.
    1. Drag 1Password from the Applications folder to the Trash.

      • DO NOT use an app cleaner. They can become clean-happy and accidentally remove your data. We do not want that to happen. Manually dragging the application to the Trash is the best option.
    2. Restart the Mac.

    3. Download 1Password from the Mac App Store.

    4. Open 1Password and Unlock before opening your browser.

    Alternatively, you can switch to the website version of 1Password.
