details on posting

Please see the screenshot. I have to fill these details every time I create a new post. Why not have a single option where I can update these details and then as per the version it shows? Also in case where version changes over time, allow from dropdown menu to select the version. Once a version is selected would remain with that post. So if I'm communicating when I'm on version 6, all posts would show ver 6. The moment I update to ver 7 then it would start showing ver 7 from that post onwards. It doesn't make sense to overtime hunt for the number.
