How can I exclude items from search?

I have ended up with around 4000 items.
and that is a lot.

I think 400 of then used frequently and I want the search to only return hits for those 400.

I do not wish to delete the rest, since some I will need again.

I have created a second Vault I called Archive, I am moving my non frequent enteries to that Vault.

When I search for items results from Archive are included in the search results.

I can put items in Trash but I would prefer not to.

I can click for Archive to be excluded from "All Archives" but does this stop the Vault from being synched?

    Excluding the vault from the All Vaults view will not keep the vault from syncing. I use the same method to narrow down my searching too.
