URL cmd:// syntax in 1Password7

Options

I just upgraded to 1Password7 from 1Password4 and I am finding that the url syntax of cmd:// to launch a local program and pass parameters such as username and password is not working anymore.
eg. cmd://"C:\SOMEAPP\SOMEAPP.EXE "{USERNAME}" "{PASSWORD}"

I use this quite a lot to automate RDP sessions, trigger VPN software. Has this feature been removed in v7? If so, are there any plans to bring it back, as I use it daily in my work.

  • Hi @Cfales, I apologize that I missed your post! Currently, this feature is not slated for return to the 1Password apps, as it comes down to internal changes to how 1Password passes data outward to other windows - I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Currently, we suggest using 1Password mini to "type" sign-in paraments into windows open on your device.

Thanks for the feedback @Dayton_ag even though I am sorry to hear that the feature is gone and not coming back.

  • No problem - I apologize again that this isn't currently slated for addition.
