I unsubscribed from App Store 1Password last year and subscribed-downloaded from 1P website. App Store still reminding me to update 1P. Is it ok to delete all 1P files from my 19,1 iMac. Then re download from 1P on the web?

Is my Personal vault kept by 1Password on the web? where I can redownload.

  • Hi @blackxacto

You can verify all of your data is in your membership by signing in through our https://my.1password.com/ web app. We have a guide on switching from the App Store download to a direct download, here:

How to install the 1Password app from 1Password.com after installing it from the Mac App Store

    I hope that helps!

"Uninstaller apps prompt you to delete supporting files when moving an app to the Trash, and this could accidentally delete all your 1Password data."

I want to wipe the iMac clean of all Apple Store 1P app files. What support file is vital to keep for my vault. I have recorded my secret key.

The files in the ~/Library folder should not be deleted — only the application files in /Applications.

    Thanks!

I have both Apple 1P Library files and 1P website Library files. App Store sees the library files. I need to know what file is absolutely necessary to keep because I want to COMPLETELY WIPE 1P both versions from my iMac and redownload fresh at the 1P website?

Ben, doesn't 1P keep my Personal Vault at their own computers?

    Can’t sign in.
    This account has been deleted.

I paid for a subscription where the heck do I redownload?

    I backed up Time Machine.
    I searched for every 1Password item/file
    Deleted all items
    Rebooted.
Restored 1Password from Time Machine backup.
    Opened 1Password.
Showed me two accounts, one deleted, the other available.
    Clicked the available.
    1P opened.
The App Store does not show Apple 1Password updates any longer.
Must have deleted the old Apple library files. Great.
I think the items are my most recent Personal Vault, is that correct?
Does 1P keep a copy of my personal vault on their servers?
If this is true, why did the new items list jump from 227 to 333?
Or is it wrong that 1P does not keep backup of my personal vault and it is only on my local computer?

    @blackxacto:

Do 1P servers keep a copy of my personal Vault?

Yes, your vault is stored on 1Password.com: you can check this by logging to your account on the website, and you will see a copy of your data there even if you remove the desktop app :+1:
