Unable to unlock vaults

I updated to 8.0.34 today and I'm unable to unlock my vaults in the app anymore.
It's working fine with the browser extension, in the browser and was working before with the beta version.

Does anyone see this, too? I've completely uninstalled, killed the process, and reinstalled from the .deb package to make sure it's clean, but it doesn't work.

The error messages:

  • Sorry you're having troubles, @kroepke . Since you already know that your account works in the browser, here are some steps to try.

Make sure you have a copy of your Emergency Kit on hand, either in print or in an open window.

Next, move the 1Password database to a safe place:

    mv ~/.config/1Password/1password.sqlite ~/.config/1Password/1password-old.sqlite

Now restart 1Password. The application will ask you to sign in again using all of the details in your Emergency Kit. This should get you going again.

Please let us know if this does not work for you.

@Savanni Awesome, that worked perfectly. I could sign in through the browser, no need for the emergency kit that way.

Many thanks for the quick response!

  • I'm glad Savanni was able to get things working for you!

  • Thank you for the logs, @dengolius !

It seems that the app is not able to add the account. Are you able to sign into 1Password on the web with the same password?

    @roustem

Are you able to sign into 1Password on the web with the same password?

Yes! Also I use it on my Android smartphone and Chrome extension but Desktop App is not working well.
Also - when I try to enable 2FA with andOTP, google authenticator and scan QR code - they said that can't recognized QR code . Duo app don't understand it too. So I little bit disappointed with 1Password on Linux ...

  • @dengollus

Sorry for the delay here! Based on the logs you shared, are you by chance trying to add a 1Password account that has Duo authentication enabled? Duo support is available in the most-recent beta version of 1Password for Linux - could you try downloading the Beta and giving it a shot? Here's a handy link with steps to get on the beta:

Download the 1Password for Linux beta

when I try to enable 2FA with andOTP, google authenticator and scan QR code - they said that can't recognized QR code

To confirm, are you getting these errors when scanning the 2FA setup code at 1Password.com?
