I click on the WFB item suggested but Safari doesn't enter either the username or password. I have to copy-and-paste from the 1Password application on my iMac so I can log in.

1Password Version: 7.8
Extension Version: 7.8
OS Version: 10.13.6
Sync Type: N/A for this question

That's odd. Have you tried creating a new login manually? I can fill in the username and password on Wells Fargo.

Edit: Oops. I just caught that you're on 10.13.6. Let me see if I can give it a shot there. Be back in a bit as soon as I warm up my Virtual Machine.

  • @romad

I can fill the details on WellsFargo using 10.13.6. Could you give creating a new login a try and let me know if it helps?

I'm guessing you mean to only use Safari's password saving feature instead of using 1Password, correct. I'll try it and see if it works.

Did it manually but Safari didn't ask to save the password. Maybe I have to shut down the iMac and reboot for Safari to ask for the password. That will have to wait until tomorrow.

  • @romad

No, save a new login manually within 1Password. My test login was created 04/03/2021 I have seen earlier logins fail. I am speaking from specific issues with Chase bank. Though to be fair my login was like 8 years old when it stopped and I needed to recreate it.

OK, I'll try that. Is it possible that WFB has disabled use of password managers on their log in page?

Nope. I created a new login manually, but the WFB page in Safari still refuses to allow 1Password to enter either the username or the password.

This is the page that won't accept entries from 1Password:
    https://connect.secure.wellsfargo.com/auth/login/present?origin=cob&LOB=CONS

Perhaps if you can view the coding you may see what is blocking 1Password.

    @romad:

Thank you for the additional information. I was able to reproduce this issue on my machine, so I will let the developers know that you have encountered this :+1:

In the meantime, filling should work from the URL https://www.wellsfargo.com/. Please login from there as a workaround if you can.

Yes, the basic home page login still works so it looks like the WFB secure connection page is the problem. I'm going to delete the secure connection bookmark and just use their home page.

  • @romad:

Glad to hear the page Ana recommended did the trick for you. If you have any other questions, please let us know! In the meantime, thank you for your support!

    Hey all,

I have this issue even on https://www.wellsfargo.com. Any progress on a fix?

  • Hey @RadicalRiemann. Filling on just https://www.wellsfargo.com should be working — what specifically are you seeing happen on your end?

Hey Michael! It detects my login, and the pop-up shows up, but when I click it it doesn't fill in the login fields.

@RadicalRiemann, are you clicking on the square icon? I found that is what you need to do.

It actually completely locks up the tab if I do that.

Weird. Hopefully the Agile Team will be able to figure it out for you.
Update: I just checked and it is still working for me (MacOS 10.13.6, Safari 13.1.2)

    Safari 14.0.3, MacOS 11.2.3 here.

  • @RadicalRiemann

Filling works for me on 11.2.3 and Safari 14.0.3 for me. Have you tried creating a new login?

Save a login manually in your browser

I'd also suggest giving 1Password a quit and restart along with Safari.

    • Look for our helper in the menu bar near the WiFi indicator and the clock. Right-click (Option-click) on the helper and select quit 1Password completely. Wait a few seconds and then open 1Password from the Dock or the Applications folder.

Very strange! I created a new entry manually and that's working. I can't see any difference between the two entries, they use the same URL and the same login info. Thanks for your help nonetheless!

I have been in that same situation with Chase.

I have this same problem with Wells Fargo. It will not auto-fill from this webpage: https://connect.secure.wellsfargo.com/auth/login/present?origin=cob&LOB=CONS
    Any help would be appreciated.

vegas75, use https://www.wellsfargo.com as I found that works for me at least.

    @vegas75:

For confirmation, what version of the 1Password browser extension are you using?

In response to romad - I have tried that link - it is the one I have always used & bookmarked - When I ask 1Password to autofill to it - it does autofill, BUT then it changes screens and goes to the one that doesn't work - the one with the balloons.
In response to ag_ana - I'm not sure I understand exactly what you mean - we are using Version 7.8.5 at this time.

@vegas75 Can you please open your 1Password app, locate the login entry of Wellsfargo's website, edit it and remove all URLs and links from under the username and password fields, then put only this URL in it: http://wellsfargo.com/

Click on "Save" when you are done and see if you are then able to autofill properly on http://wellsfargo.com/

ag_yaron - it only worked one time. I did it this morning, but now I just tried to log in again, and it fills in the log in page, but then it goes to the other log in screen with a field & fence line (similar to the balloon page). Oh well. Please fix this 1Password people.

We will fix it @vegas75 , but for now I'd like to understand why the website routes you to a different page after it loads.

Are you trying to open and fill this login entry from the 1Password desktop app, which launches your browser and loads the page? Or do you manually reach the website in your browser first, then when you're on the login page you try to autofill? A step-by-step description of your steps and actions might help us understand what goes wrong here.

So I just tried it from the 1Password link on the top of my browser and it launched the website - but did not fill the username or password. When I had the website up and then ask to fill - it worked, this time. I noticed I had 2 logins saved - so I deleted one. I tried it 3 or 4 more times and now it is working from the 1Password app Thank you for fixing this.

  • Hi @vegas75 — that's great to hear. If you encounter any other issues, please don't hesitate to get in touch again.
